There are very few of them, getting them is a massive pain in the neck (I'm explicitly not going to try to theorize on atmospheric archguns because my current build is "all the mods I have except one", and I'm pretty sure I enjoy Archwing more than average), and the lack of a proper Serration really stings for easy building. I want the archguns to feel as strong as everything in the game is hyping them up to be, and I want it to be a legitimate option when I'm doing high-level content- I think that would be genuinely fantastic if it was implemented well, but as of right now using atmosphere-archguns makes me feel like I'm holding the most badass minigun in the world but marshmallows are the only ammunition I'm allowed to use. There are ways to fix this- one way is to rescale archgun damage as well as the health of archwing enemies and the profit-taker, and then change the ammo pool/ammo drops and/or cooldown accordingly. I like using the archguns- it's fun, but it's not at all something I would seriously do in a mission like arbitration or ESO. Using a weapon that is weaker, has worse ammo economy, and has a cooldown timer, is not at all worth losing the ability to use one much stronger weapon (primary or secondary) that I can use so long as I continue to kill things, let alone two weapons (primary and secondary). I only switch to my Imperator Vandal in a mission if we're basically done with the objective and I just wanna shoot 1500 rounds out of a big gun for shits and giggles and also draw a benis on walls/terrain that leave bullet holes. The only time I absolutely need to switch to the archgun is during the Profit Taker fight- in every other scenario, I have a decent amount of primaries, secondaries, and melee weapons that can carry me through level 100+ content, something I wouldn't rely on my archguns to do even if they had comparable ammo drops in missions to primaries and secondaries. The base stats for atmosphere-archguns are far from gamebreaking, and almost all of the available mods for them are weaker than their counterpart mods for pretty much every other weapon class (rifle, pistol, etc.). This is an 'oh yeah' power moment that will continue to undergo balance changes to feel a bit less punishing. Generally speaking from a broad design sense, the intent here is to have a powerful change of pace in combat, not a complete replacement of your weaponry for all time.
